Russell M. Nelson Named 17th Church President

President Russell M. Nelson was announced as the 17th president and prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. The announcement was made by Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles during a live broadcast from the annex of the iconic Salt Lake Temple. He was sustained and set apart in the Salt Lake Temple on Sunday, January 14, 2018.

President Thomas S. Monson Dies at Age 90

With tender feelings we announce that Thomas S. Monson, president and prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died this evening at 10:01 pm in his home in Salt Lake City. He was with family at the time of his passing. He died at age 90 from causes incident to age.

‘Light the World’ Christmas Initiative Encourages Christlike Service

Latter-day Saints and their friends around the world are encouraging the public to participate in service opportunities during the Christmas season to celebrate the life of Jesus Christ. The “Light the World” Christmas initiative will reach worldwide audiences beginning Friday, November 24, 2017.

LDS Church forms New Delhi Stake

On November 5, 2017, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints formed a Stake in New Delhi, India.  This is the fourth Stake or group of congregations now in India.  November 4, 2017 also commemorated the ten year anniversary of the formation of the New Delhi India Mission. 

2017 YSA India Conference Held in Bangaluru

The 2017 all India YSA Conference was held in Bangaluru on Oct 19-21, 2017.  The venue was Garden Asia Resort outside of Bangaluru.  Workshops, activities, meals and wonderful friendships were enjoyed by the approximate 350 YSA.
